Onboard and Maintain a VNF Descriptor that can be used in an ONAP Service

      • Scenario 1:
        • A designer uses SDC to create a new service that references a VNF
        • The SDC presents the designer with details from the VNF-D including resource requirements of each of the flavors, the required input parameters and the external connections points
        • The designer selects a deployment flavor, provides default values for the input parameters and specifies how the service should terminate the external connection points
        • The new service is cataloged
      • Scenario 2:
        • A designer uses SDC to create an upgrade change control of a service referencing a new version of a VNF
        • The SDC presents the designer with the details of the old service and the details from the VNF-D
        • The designer selects a deployment flavor, provides default values for the input and specifies how the service should terminate the external connection points of the VNF
        • The new upgrade change control is cataloged
      • Scenario 3:
        • An instantiate VNF request is sent from ONAP to an external VNF Manager
        • The VNFM requests the VNF Descriptor from the VNF package provided by the vendor
        • The VNF Descriptor is extracted from the VNF package and provided to the VNFM
        • The VNFM uses the information in the VNF Descriptor to instantiate the VNF
