Description:

Enhance SDNC to support automatic scale out support for VNFs.  A need to scale out is determined by SO based on policy  and a request to create an additional VNF or VNFC is made to SDNC. 

SDN-C will support automatic VNF scale out capability by providing the following capabilities.

• SDN-C will provide an API that will check existing resource utilization by VNFs to determine available capacity and will return the available capacity (definition needed).
• An API to create a new VNF component (VNFC) to an existing VNF. The VNFC will be created by SDN-C.  SDN-C will also update A&AI with information from the new VF.
• An API to update VNFC configuration with any additional configuration information.
• An API to initiate a health check on a L1-L3 VNF. Health check on L4-L7 VNFs will be performed by APP-C.
• An API to create a new instance of a VNF (this is existing capability).
