Today, requirement R-01123 contains a "must" request related to PNF/VNF Package integrity:

"... a list of all artifacts (both internal and external) entry's including their respected URI's, an algorithm to calculate a digest and a digest result calculated on the content of each artifacts, as specified in ETSI GS NFV-SOL004".

Currently ETSI NFV SOL004 contains two options related to package authenticity:

• Option 1 (covered in requirement R-130206) - which asks for digest algorithm, and digest for each file
• Option 2 (covered in requirement R-787965) - which asks for a digest calculation for a complete VNF/PNF package.

Due to the existence of these two authenticity options within ETSI NFV SOL004, we shall not require in a generalized requirement R-01123 that the digest algorithm, and the digest itself is mandatory within a manifest file. Such specific requirements are covered in R-130206, and R-787965.

Thus new proposed text of the generalized requirement R-01123:

"The VNF or PNF package Manifest file *MUST* contain: VNF or PNF package meta-data, a list of all artifacts (both internal and external) entry's including their respected URI's, as specified in ETSI GS NFV-SOL 004".
