FYI, we’ve made reasonable progress using post-install hooks to automate much DMaaP provisioning.

Two follow up questions:

• You had suggested using –wait flag as a way to force the hook to actually wait till all Resources were passing readiness check.   I could only find documentation of that flag as a helm install command line option.  Is there some way to specify this behavior in the chart itself?

[Mahendra] - https://helm.sh/docs/using_helm/#helpful-options-for-install-upgrade-rollback suggests this is available for all 3 operations. We can use this using deploy plugin as well. I have tried this with my hooks.

But if you don’t want to depend on user to supply this flag (I also feel we should not leave it to the user), then You may have to use initContainers to check the readiness of the other components before starting the job.
