Currently configuration that is loaded into configmaps is a duplication of what is in the application team's repo. Ideally, we want to eliminate the need to externalize the APPC configuration and instead provide configuration via environment variables to the containers. Or, possibly, provide a single simplified configuration file that can be mounted into the container(s).
