With the recent first formal publication of  ETSI SOL001, we need to update the current onboarding DM align with both SOL001 and Tosca simple yaml profile v1.2. (see the below Jira SDC-2090 for details)

The current internal network service descriptor(NSD) in AID can not meet the requirements of onboarding an ETSI sol001 NSD. Also, the current internal NSD in AID can not be recognized by some onap component(i.e. VFC). There is an ongoing discussion in ONAP architecture committee ONAPARC-269 about the internal NSD representation. SDC need to update/evolve the internal NSD based on the result of that discussion.

Also to deal with the possibility of future onboarding and internal DM evolving, as well as for backward compatibility, SDC needs a way to support multiple versions of DM.   (see the below Jira SDC-2092 for details)
