When an invalid index is specified for a get_input or get_property value and the Save button is clicked - the invalid value is removed and the save button disabled. This prevents the invalid value being set but there is no indication to the user what has happened. 

It would be better to show the user an error message stating the value is incorrect and what the valid values are, preferable underneath the text box, for example:

Invalid value - must be an integer or INDEX
