Description:

Enhancement/augmentation of ONAP/SDN-C capabilities with the automated and assisted network service and device configuration back up with configurable intervals with version control and config comparison features and automated configuration restoration in case of upgrade failures.

Scope:

The scope of this story covers the below points.

1. Develop functionality to take regular back up of device configurations with flexibility to specify the backup interval and no of backup’s to maintain.
2. Develop functionality to version control and manage all the backed up configurations.
3. Develop functionality to apply any chosen version of the configuration on the device.
4. Develop functionality to restore the last working configuration on the device in case of an upgrade failure or other issues with current configuration either automatically or with user inputs.
5. Develop functionality to choose any 2 or more backed up configuration versions to highlight the differences between them.
6. Develop a GUI from where all the above functions can be performed.
7. Develop a north bound API interface for other ONAP components or external systems to invoke the above functions.Provide reports for all the configuration backup activities done either per device or time based as the user needs.

Acceptance Criteria:

As a SDN-C user, I should be able to perform automatic back up of service and device configurations while version controlling the different configurations with compare configuration feature and also automatic configuration restoration to last working config in case of any config change/upgrade failures.
