Java release 8 is out of support and has no security updates.  Version 9 is out of support in March 2018.  Do we need a recommendation about the Java version to use.

Following research on Java versions available as of today it is recommended to use release 11 as marked by Oracle with extended life support = LTS (Long-Term-Support)
