The VNF/PNF package Manifest file MUST contain: VNF/PNF package meta-data, a list of all artifacts (both internal and external) entry’s including their respected URI’s, (optional) an algorithm to calculate a digest and a digest result calculated on the content of each artifacts, as specified in ETSI GS NFV-SOL004. The VNF/PNF Package meta-data MUST include VNF/PNF Identification Data to uniquely identify the resource for a given VNF/PNF provider. -The identification data must include: an identifier for the VNF/PNF , the name of the VNF/PNF as was given by the VNF/PNF provider, VNF/PNF description, VNF/PNF provider, and version.

The VNF/PNF preamble is used by the parsing entity to distinct between VNF and PNF package.
